Beautiful Anarchy

Beautiful Anarchy is a line inspired by the political and social conflicts prevalent in the 1950s. The overabundance of red is an artistic representation of the red scare and the menacing lines and saturated colors allude to dark times. I've incorporated fabric on each board through the lines of ripped and torn denim that was dyed haphazardly with red paint on the sides as a makeshift frame.

The line consists of garments inspired by the "grunge" decade but fashioned modernly. I've created a denim military inspired jacket, a flannel oversized shirt with an enlarged collar, ripped skinny leg twill pants, ripped denim shorts with flannel details, a mesh and jersey top, and a jersey knit cardigan.


A line of jewelry was also created for the line that included pieces that would accent the clothing.


As an accompaniment to the line, I created a fabric and color story showcasing what I plan to use on the line.

Hanky Panky, the famed "perfect thong" was created during a generation of working women, weary of dressing like the boys. Sportswear will be an ideal extension to the Hanky Panky brand. To compliment the luxury underwear line, the sportswear line features apparel that accentuate curvature and create structure. The line will carry out Hanky Panky's fiercely feminine style by having lace and ribbon details. Foremost, they will be extremely comfortable because that is what Hanky Panky is known for!

An urge to realize personal happiness through the acceptance of new possibilities and spontaneous discovery hallmarks Banana Republic's emerging collection. Nature's organic curves and abstract structure is the inspiration for Banana Republic's 2o11 line.
